Shepard Fairey's latest exhibition entitled 'DAMAGED' recently debuted in Downtown Los Angeles.

The first display to greet your eyes upon entering is a printing press set next to stacks on stacks of Fairey's own "The Damaged Times" newspaper.

"I decided to print 'The Damaged Times' newspaper accompanying the art show as a way to demonstrate the power of becoming one's own source of media, a principle I've embraced throughout my career."

The DAMAGED experience is a scathing view into our current social climate, offering up a narrative on topics like xenophobia, racial bias, sexism, the incompatible collision of capitalism & environmental responsibility, Wall St. corruption, media disintegration & corporate bribery of politicians.

200+ beautiful pieces are on display in the exhibit, ranging from poster prints to billboard sized originals.

"I think art can be part of the solution because art can inspire people to look at an issue they might otherwise ignore or reject. Art has the power to seduce, engage, and address our universal humanity in ways that create important conversations."

"I hope that the art & processes on display in 'DAMAGED' are a reminder that we are not powerless. We may be damaged but we still have the ability to use our voices, to evolve and to rises above!"

ICYMI, a small theater was constructed within the exhibit showing (on repeat) the recent Hulu documentary titled "Obey Giant" chronicling Fairey's life, although we highly recommend watching it prior to arrival to allow yourself more time browsing the 'DAMAGED' collection.
